Which cruise line is cheapest for first timers?
Carnival is usually the most budget friendly of the big mainstream lines, with low base fares and a casual, fun atmosphere. Just remember the base price often excludes drinks and gratuities, so check what's included before you compare it to a pricier line that bundles those extras in.
Is Carnival or Royal Caribbean better for families?
Both are excellent for families. Royal Caribbean's megaships offer more headline activities like waterparks and ice rinks, which thrill older kids and teens. Carnival is more budget friendly and a bit easier to navigate, making it great for families who want plenty of fun without an overwhelming ship or a big bill.
How many nights should my first cruise be?
Start with a three to five night sailing. It's long enough to enjoy sea days and a couple of ports, but short enough that you're not locked into a long trip before you know whether cruising is for you. You can always book longer once you're hooked.
