Let me be upfront about the money, because trust is the whole point of a site like this. Kate's Travel Hacks earns through affiliate links. When you tap one of my links and end up buying something or booking a trip, I may get a small commission from that company.
There are a few programs involved. The biggest is the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, which covers the gear I recommend. I also use affiliate links for things like shore excursions (through tour marketplaces such as Viator and GetYourGuide), pre-cruise hotels, travel insurance, and cruise bookings. They all work the same way: a small commission to me, the same price for you.
It costs you nothing extra. The price is exactly the same whether you use my link or go to the company yourself. Those commissions are simply how I keep the lights on here instead of plastering the place with ads.

Here is the part that matters most: a commission never buys a recommendation. No brand pays me to feature their gear, bump it up a list, or soften what I say about it. I earn the same small amount no matter which product you pick, so I have zero reason to steer you wrong. If something is overpriced or not worth the suitcase space, I'll tell you, and you will not find a buy button on it.
Every pick on this site is something I would genuinely pack myself. That is the only filter.
